Two Young Men Die in Tragic Car Accident on Jalandhar Flyover

Two young men lost their lives after the Volkswagen car they were travelling in collided with a stationary Municipal Corporation tractor-trolley on the Police Lines flyover in Jalandhar in the early hours of Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Divit Aulakh, son of Dinesh Aulakh, owner of Punjabi music company Speed Records, and Arav Talwar, son of the owner of Pappi Sweets. Their untimely deaths have plunged their families and friends into grief and sent shockwaves through Jalandhar’s business community.

According to preliminary information, the two friends were returning home after attending a birthday party late Saturday night. The accident reportedly occurred around 3 AM when their Volkswagen car was travelling from BMC Chowk towards BSF Chowk.

According to the police, the car crashed into a tractor-trolley belonging to the Municipal Corporation that had been parked on the flyover. Sanitation workers had reportedly stationed the vehicle there while carrying out cleaning operations and collecting garbage.

Police Confirm Two Fatalities

SHO of Baradari Police Station, Sahil Chaudhary, said the police received information about the accident at around 3 AM and promptly reached the scene.

He confirmed that five young men were travelling in the car when the accident occurred. While Divit Aulakh and Arav Talwar died in the crash, the other three occupants reportedly escaped without injuries.

Following the accident, the police took possession of the bodies and initiated an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

However, according to the available information, the families of both deceased declined to pursue further legal action. The police subsequently handed over the bodies to their respective families.

Prominent Families in Mourning

The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over Jalandhar, particularly among members of the city’s business community. Both young men belonged to well-known business families, and news of their sudden demise has left relatives, friends and acquaintances devastated.

The incident has once again highlighted the devastating consequences of road accidents and the importance of road safety.
