AHSB Senior Annual Day Celebrates Excellence; Inaugural Sunita John Altiora Award Presented

Auckland House School for Boys, Shimla, celebrated its Senior Annual Day and Award Ceremony with a vibrant presentation of student talent and achievements across academic, co-curricular and individual spheres.

The cultural programme featured musical, theatrical and dance presentations, including English and Hindi plays, choirs, the school band, violin recital and dance performances, reflecting the students’ creativity, confidence and teamwork. The evening also included the Principal’s Annual Report, address by the Chief Guest and prize distribution.

The occasion was graced by Shri Mohan Datt, HPAS, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he stressed the importance of moral values, discipline, honesty and respect, encouraging students to work hard, face challenges with confidence and pursue their goals with dedication.

Principal Reuben John, while presenting the Annual Report, highlighted the school’s achievements and milestones during the year and encouraged students to uphold strong values and continue striving for excellence.

A significant highlight of the evening was the first presentation of The Sunita John Altiora Award, instituted in memory of the school’s late Director-Principal, Mrs. Sunita John. The award recognises a student who embodies the spirit of “Altiora Peto” — “I seek higher things” through excellence, integrity, perseverance and character.

The inaugural award was presented to Shivankit Kanwar in recognition of his commitment to these values. The new distinction seeks to carry forward the ideals associated with Mrs. Sunita John and inspire students to continually strive for higher standards.

The ceremony also recognised students for achievements across various fields, reaffirming Auckland House School for Boys’ commitment to holistic education, character building and the pursuit of excellence.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chief Guest, school management, teachers, parents and students.
